This isn’t about a dream but it almost seemed like one when I woke up yesterday. We had 25 inches of snow!!! I don’t think we have had that much snow here in Delaware in my lifetime. I love how the snow changes everything.

The snow reminds me of something I read recently about Einstein and a dream that he had as an adolescent. Here is part of what I read from the book Mindful Dreaming by David Gordon (p 50):

Einstein shared that it was night in his dream and he was with friends sledding down a hill and having a grand time. However, on one trip down, he became aware that he was traveling faster and faster. Realizing after a moment that the sled was approaching the speed of light, he looked up and saw the twinkling starry light of the night refracted into a brilliant spectrum of colors he had never before seen. Filled with a numinous sense of awe, wonder and reverence, he understood this vision as one that clarified his calling in life – a vision that contained all the answers as well as questions he would need to ask. “I knew I had to understand that dream,” said Einstein, “and you could say and I would say, that my entire scientific career has been a meditation on that dream.”
